SG-64 Mission Report - Boody Mill Road

So, It's your typical Friday for me. Grocery, 5p-10p. Nothing unusual happened at work. Jamil and Jessica French did stop by, which is cool because I was going to text them later to see if they wanted to hang out, because I was going to be out late one way or another tonight. Stuck at my dads work for two hours, or hang out with Coworkers? I chose the latter.

So we went to Wal-Mart to visit DScan, I picked up some soda and a videogame I wanted. (Ghostbusters for the Wii! Hell yeah! shouldn't have spent the money... but well, been almost three months since I bought myself anything other than food.) Overall, we were in WalMart for like an hour and a half.

Then we were driving through Woodbury, and Jamil got pulled over for running an 'Orange' light.

Then we started heading for Boody Mill Road, out of boredum. It's about 12:45AM at this point.

The last redlight before we reach BMR, Jamil decides to peel out when the light goes green. One of the vehicles at the light was a Chevy pickup. Dark in color, most likely Navy Blue or Black. At the moment I'm fairly convinced it was Navy blue Chevy Silverado, possibly 2007-2008. But the headlights seemed more square than rectangular, I'll have to look into it more later.

The truck was 10 car lengths behind us, but at this point we had no idea what was next. We casually turned onto BMR, and we got a little ways down the road when, ROAR. A vehicle ROARS around the corner and onto BMR. We thought for a moment it was a cop, then discovered it was a truck and had a brief moment of relief. He speeds up though, we will a little concerned but not too much. Then his headlights went off and we FLIPPED OUT. Jamil PUNCHES it. The truck gains on us. Jamil approaches the curve with the guardrail, I tell him to brake early, then accelerate out of the turn. Not sure if he followed my advice, but somehow the tires stuck and we made it through the turn. Apparently we had more balls than the other driver, this is where we gained some ground on him, he turned his lights back on to make it through the turn, but then shut them off again with us back in sight as he gained on us.

For those not in the know, Boody Mill Road doesn't have much lighting. So without headlights, it was really hard to see the truck behind us, until he was so close to our bumper, the red brake lights illuminated/reflected off his headlights, which made it look as if the devil was on our bumper. At one point, he was only a few feet from us, when Jamil slowed down as Jess was begging him to. Then I told him to HIT IT, because he was getting closer and closer and about to hit us. I tried taking pictures with my phone, I left the flash on because I thought it might distract the creepy dude chasing us, but, in hindsight I wish I had the flash off, because all it did was bounce off the back window of the car and blow out my pics, I wish I had picks of the truck/lic plate.

I had a good view of the plate with my eye... but I didn't think to memorize it. damn, I'll know better next time.

We reached the end of the road and Jamil was HAULING, so we made some distance on him. We had to stop at a stop sign and just as we were about to go, he was coming up behind us. The road was vacant, I told Jamil to GO GO GO. We started up Jamil started hauling out of there and the dude was on our bumper. We sped up and put some distance between us and him.

Then after going a ways, he slows down, almost to a stop, turns his lights back on and puts his hazards on while stopped. We're going WTF? We stop, watching him. His lights go back off, he moves again. He's coming around the corner. He starts swerving like CRAZY in the dark. We tell Jamil to get going! We went around another bend and we were out of sight range for a moment, so I told Jamil to turn ASAP. We did and he didn't see where we went and we effectively lost him for a moment. We double backed and started stalking him.

We thought we had tracked him to his home, watching from just over a block away, in the darkness we saw him pull into a driveway and turn his lights off. We sat there for a minute, to see if he would start moving again. He didn't. I told Jamil to go after him, but he chickened out and decided to run. We retraced our steps and got back to the place again, we drove by where we saw him park, there were no Chevy pickups anywhere in the immediate area and the end of that road was a court.

We figured that, he probably didn't live there at all and it was a trap. It appeared, where he pulled into the driveway was just before the entrance to the court. If we pulled into he court, and he pulled out of the driveway, we would have been effectively trapped.

Increasing the WTF CREEPY SHIT Factor ten fold.

Craziest night of my life, ever. Not that it's saying much, but still.

Rising

Not quite as I planned.
Well... I wanted to update this on a nearly daily basis but that didn't really work out.
Hopefully now I'll have more time and less stress since my move is complete. I'm now relocated.

I was hoping for another way, looks like I got a whole lot more than that.

I'm now staying with my dad, whom is going to charge me much less for room and board, giving me the boost I need to save much needed money, where as before I was dishing out almost all of my pay to my aunt, crippling my progress.

I also plan to start a jobhunt this month. If I can save more money and get a better paying job, I might just be able to reach Escape Velocity in 2010 and rid myself of the gravitational pull of the black hole that is New Jersey. Here's hoping.

SGU Premiers tonight (Friday night, 10/2). Can't believe it didn't leak. I'll actually have to watch it live like normal people. Damn.
