Digital Gate Network is my personal preference for a 'project codename' I've had many, but this is the only one that has stuck lately, I've recycled it a few times.
I have created this blog, because for the longest time, I've used chat logs and telling my friends about my day as a personal journal database for myself. If I ever wanted to look back on something I did or try to remember something that happened, I immediately search the chat log database of mine.
However, as things change, people change, lives change and I change, Lately, I have found myself not chatting as much as I would like to, as I have in the past.
I'm finding that my sleeping and work schedule, is not matching up with others at all. Some people I would talk to on a regular basis, recently, lines of communication have dropped flat dead for a relatively extended period of time.
I am one of those people, who just loves to archive... everything. For the sake of it mostly. I suppose you could call it a hobby. I typically also have a bad memory. Or I used to. I find that, much like the old cliche writing things down helps you remember. I personally find that typing things helps me remember them.
And, even if I don't remember them, since text takes up little storage space, I can maintain a vast library of the experiences of my life. So if I forget, I can always go back to my database and remember. In a way, it's almost like the movie Memento.
Since chatting is at an all time low for myself, I've decided to start a blog, so that my memories may live on. Either with myself, my friends or anyone else who finds interest in the pitiful perils of the life a lowly solitary geek like myself.
So here goes. Perhaps this blog will evolve into something more, ultimately I would like that. A combination of personal interests and perhaps also a homeworld for Internet related projects I may pursue in the future.
