Lucky

In my last entry I mentioned having to work in Bakery.
Well, I lucked out. Monday night, the Bakery Manager had to call out due to a relative being in the Hospital or something. Score. No one to train me, means I got to be on Cashier. Not one of my favorite things to do, but, regardless better than Bakery.

Worst Customer, these 3 Mexican guys in their mid 20s who barely spoke English.
It was a large order, subtotal was $249 and some change. Then when I hit total, something else must have come off and it changed to $246 and some change. But I didn't see this. So, meanwhile, my drawer is about to lock out, they paid $250 in cash I need a pickup before I start the next order.

In the process of doing the pickup, I forgot to double check if they needed any change, I closed the drawer and began scanning the next order, one of the Mexican guys had like just 2 things.
After I scanned the first thing, the one dude then just now notices I missed his $3 change.

I checked the receipt, he was right. I owed him $3. It took me FIFTEEN minutes to get him to understand that I couldn't open the drawer *RIGHT THAT MOMENT* because I already scanned an item and that I needed to finish this TWO ITEM order before I could open my drawer again and give him his change.

Once that got through his thick 'no speckenz za english' Mexican head, they were happy and on their way... at least it was a short shift. 4p-8p
